Envision Her. Say Yes. And Let Life Surprise You.

On May 31, 2024, I left the dentist office I had loved for seven years. I adored my boss, coworkers, and patients—it was more than a job; it was family. But something inside me stirred. I was close to publishing Me, Myself & One Month: Self-Love as a passion project and thought maybe I’d sell candles and jewelry at vendor events while writing on the side. That was it. That was the plan… or so I thought.

Fast-forward one year: I’m a podcast cohost, a club officer at Toastmasters, an adjunct instructor at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, and a breast cancer life coach. That was definitely not on my vision board.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

1. You Must Envision Your Future Self—Even If You Don’t Know the How.

I had an idea of the woman I wanted to become: creative, encouraging, influential. I saw her. I felt her. But I didn’t stress about how she’d arrive. I turned my daydreams into goals. I took baby steps. I pivoted (a lot). And piece by piece, she started to show up—in real life.

It’s okay if you don’t have the full map. Just start walking in the direction of your vision. Stay open to the route changing. That’s part of the magic.

2. Say Yes—Even When You're Scared.

Every title I now carry came from a yes I said while shaking in my boots. Was I ready? Not always. But each leap brought lessons, connections, clarity, and unexpected joy. Some of those yeses weren’t lifelong commitments, they were stepping stones. They stretched me. They helped me find my voice. They led me closer to my purpose.

What started as one book has now become a series. That series sparked one-on-one coaching and workshops. My jewelry and candles have fallen away, not because they weren’t beautiful, but because I found what truly lit me up.

In the process, some people and distractions quietly exited my life, making space for a new circle: fellow coaches, encouragers, influencers, and thought leaders who match my energy and mission.

Today, my life looks wildly different than it did a year ago. I am so grateful to Chris, to myself, to the people who supported me, and to the doors that opened because I dared to knock.

So here’s my encouragement to you:

See her. Your future self.
Say yes. Even when it terrifies you.
And be willing to become someone far beyond what you originally imagined.
